Tayside 4×4 Response is a volunteer-led charity dedicated to providing logistical support to the NHS, Emergency Services, local authorities, charities, and other partner organisations during adverse weather, emergencies, and times of crisis.
While our primary area of operation is across Tayside, our volunteers regularly deploy further afield when requested to support partner agencies and communities in need.
Our organisation is run entirely by trained volunteers who are committed to supporting their communities through the use of their own equipped 4×4 vehicles, specialist skills, and local knowledge.

Logistic Support
Our primary role is to provide reliable transportation and logistical support during adverse weather, major incidents, and times of crisis. Using capable 4x4 vehicles and trained volunteer responders, we help ensure that essential personnel, medical supplies, equipment, and other critical resources reach their destinations safely when conventional transport may be disrupted.
Whether supporting emergency services, healthcare providers, local authorities, or community resilience partners, our responders are available to assist whenever challenging conditions threaten normal operations. Through effective planning, coordination, and local knowledge, we help maintain vital services when they are needed most.
Event Support
Large outdoor events can quickly be affected by changing weather conditions, particularly when vehicle access and parking areas become waterlogged or difficult to navigate. Tayside 4x4 Response provides experienced 4x4 support to help organisers maintain safe and efficient operations during these challenging conditions.
Our trained, insured, and professional volunteer drivers can assist with transporting visitors, staff, equipment, and supplies across difficult terrain, while helping to minimise damage to fields, car parks, and access routes. Whether supporting festivals, agricultural shows, sporting events, or community gatherings, we work alongside organisers to ensure events can continue safely and smoothly when conditions deteriorate.
By providing specialist off-road transport capabilities, we help protect both your visitors and the land on which your event takes place.
Traffic Management
Our qualified Traffic Management Team can assist with the planning, organisation, and delivery of road closures, diversions, and traffic control measures for community events, parades, charity runs, festivals, and other public gatherings.
Working closely with event organisers, local authorities, and emergency services where required, we help ensure that traffic flows safely and efficiently while minimising disruption to residents, businesses, and road users. From initial planning and risk assessment through to on-the-day management, our experienced volunteers can provide practical support to help your event run smoothly.
Whether you require temporary road closures, diversion routes, or traffic marshals, our team is committed to maintaining safety for participants, spectators, and the wider community.
